The Superstar was introduced on the court in 1969 for testing, and was released to the public in 1970 as the first low basketball shoe to feature an all leather upper and the world renowned rubber shell toe. By the mid 70s, three quarters of all NBA players were wearing new shell toes from adidas. This model, the adidas Superstar 2 Basic Suede, features animal embossing and a new color blocking on solid color. It has a soft and durable suede upper, as well as a non marking rubber OUTSOLE.
